Why Choose Summer Classes & Progressive Ballet Technique
Strength Building
It's important to keep active even over the summer months. Progressive Ballet Technique, which focuses on muscle memory, strength, and conditioning, complements traditional ballet training exceptionally well. PBT exercises target the specific muscles used in ballet and help improve alignment, balance, and core strength. This combination can lead to significant technical advancements in a relatively short period.
Injury Prevention and Recovery
Summer dance programs that include PBT focus extensively on conditioning the body correctly to perform ballet movements. PBT’s emphasis on correct alignment and muscle engagement helps in reducing the risk of injury commonly associated with the physically demanding nature of dance. For dancers recovering from previous injuries, PBT can offer a safer route to regain strength and flexibility while maintaining a focus on proper technique.
Improved Flexibility and Balance
PBT focuses heavily on developing deep muscular strength and flexibility, which are crucial for the demanding positions and movements in ballet. The use of tools like exercise balls and resistance bands in PBT helps to engage smaller muscle groups that are often overlooked in traditional training but are essential for maintaining balance and achieving the fluid, controlled movements that ballet requires. This can lead to a more harmonious and effective dance technique overall.
